At Magma HDI, we understand your car is your prized possession and that you want to do everything possible to ensure its security. Hence, we bring the Private Car Package Policy.It is not just designed to cover the compulsory Third Party Liability as required by Motor Vehicles Act, but also any loss or damage to the your vehicle.

Scope of Cover

Third party liability: This Policy protects you against any legal liability arising out of the use of your vehicle towards third parties, leading to any bodily injury to / on death of a person and any damage caused to third party property. 

Loss or damage to the vehicle: The Private Car Package Policy covers you against any loss or damage caused to your vehicle or its accessories due to the following natural and manmade calamities: 

Natural Calamities: Fire, explosion, self-ignition or lightning, earthquake, flood, typhoon, hurricane, storm, tempest, inundation, cyclone, hailstorm, frost, landslide, rockslide.Man made Calamities: : Burglary, theft, riot, strike, malicious act, accident by external means, terrorist activity, and any damage in transit by road, rail, inland waterway, lift, elevator or air.

Sum Insured

For your convenience, we ensure that your vehicles are insured at a fixed value called the Insured's Declared Value (IDV). This IDV is calculated on the basis of the manufacturer's listed selling price of the vehicle (plus the listed price of any accessories) after deducting the depreciation for every year as per the following rates.

However, in the event that the price of any accessory installed in your vehicle is not included in the manufacturer's listed selling price, then the actual value of it (after depreciation) can be added to the Sum Insured, over and above the IDV.

Over and above the above mentioned benefits, you can also enjoy the following covers at a nominal extra cost.

Additional Covers at extra cost

 Personal accident cover: Compulsory personal accident cover of Rs.1 lakh - in case of two-wheelers and Rs.2 lakhs for other classes of vehicles for *individual owners of the vehicle while driving. However, this is not applicable for a company owned vehicle.Additionally, you and the other occupants of the vehicle can also be covered for Personal Accident for a maximum Capital Sum Insured of Rs. 1 lakh per person in case of two-wheelers and Rs. 2 lakh per person for other classes of vehicles. You may also now opt for higher limits in personal accident cover.

Available only if the owner of the vehicle holds a valid driving license.

Additional Legal Liabilities: While applying for a Commercial Motor Policy, you can also opt for the following additional legal liabilities at an additional premium

  • Paid driver / conductor / cleaner employed in operation of vehicle.
  • Employees travelling in / driving the vehicle other than paid driver.
  • Non-fare paying passengers.

Bifuel-Kit: The CNG-LPG bifuel kit can also be covered by payment additional premium

Discount Available

No Claim Bonus: If you do not make a claim during the Policy period, a No Claim Bonus (NCB) is offered on renewals. This discount can go as high as 50%. (NCB will only be allowed provided the policy is renewed within 90 days of the expiry date of the previous policy). Transfer of NCB: You can transfer full benefits of No Claim Bonus when you shift your motor insurance policy from another company.

Other Discounts:

  • Voluntary Excess discount: A further discount on the premium is available if you opt for a Voluntary Excess (available only for private cars and two wheelers) in addition to the Compulsory Excess. (Compulsory Excess is the amount of loss which the insured has to bear in each and every claim.)
  • Automobile Association Membership: You can also avail additional discount if you are a member of a recognized Automobile Association in India (available only for private cars and two wheelers).
  • Anti theft devices: In case you have installed an ARAI approved anti theft device in your vehicle, you get a discount of 2.5% on the OD Premium to a maximum of Rs.500/- for four-wheelers and Rs 50/- for two wheelers
Exclusion

Please note, while every effort is made to give you the best possible services any loss/damage to the vehicle and/or its accessories will be not be covered if caused by the following:

Normal wear, tear and general ageing of the vehicle

Depreciation or any consequential loss

Mechanical / electrical breakdown

Vehicle being used otherwise than in accordance with limitations as to use

Damage to / by a person driving the vehicle without a valid license

Damage to / by a person driving the vehicle under the influence of drugs or liquor

Loss / damage due to war, mutiny or nuclear risk

Use of Motor vehicle in violation of Limitation As To Use clause mentioned in the Policy

Your two-wheeler is a thing of pride for you, we understand that. Which is why, our two-wheeler package policy is designed to cover the compulsory Third Party Liability as required by Motor Vehicles Act as well as any loss or damage to your two-wheeler.

Scope of Cover

Third party liability: The Policy protects you and your two-wheeler against any legal liability arising out of the use of the vehicle, towards third parties, leading to any bodily injury to / on death of a person and any damage caused to third party property.

Loss or damage to the vehicle: The two wheeler package policy covers against any loss or damage caused to your two-wheeler or its accessories due to the following occurrences:

  • Fire, explosion, self-ignition, accidental damage by external means,
  • Any damage in transit by road, rail, inland waterway, lift, elevator or air.
  • Lightning, earthquake, flood, typhoon, hurricane, storm, tempest, inundation, cyclone, hailstorm, frost, landslide, rockslide.
  • Burglary, theft, riot, strike, malicious act, terrorist activity,
Sum Insured

Which is why, we have designed our Commercial Motor Policy to be your companion in difficult times. This policy is designed to adequately cover any loss or damage sustained by your vehicle. Additionally, it also addresses the compulsory Third Party Liability clause as required by the Motor Vehicles Act.

Scope of Cover

Third party liability: The policy protects you and your vehicle against any legal liability arising out of the use of the vehicle towards third parties leading to bodily injury to / on death of a person and any damage caused to third party property.

Loss or damage to the vehicle: The Commercial Motor Policy also covers you against any loss or damage caused to your vehicle or its accessories due to the following natural and / or manmade calamities.

Natural calamities: Fire, explosion, self-ignition or lightning, earthquake, flood, typhoon, hurricane, storm, tempest, inundation, cyclone, hailstorm, frost, landslide, rockslide.

Man made calamities: Burglary, theft, riot, strike, malicious act, accident by external means, terrorist activity, and any damage in transit by road, rail, inland waterway, lift, elevator or air together with loss or damage to the vehicle itself.

At Magma HDI, we insure all vehicles at a fixed value, known as Insured's Declared Value (IDV). IDV is calculated on the basis of your vehicle manufacturer's listed selling price (plus the listed price of any accessories) after deducting the depreciation for every year as per the following rates.

IMT 23 Cover for lamps, tyres/tubes, mudguards, bonnet / side parts, bumpers, headlights and paint works  For a nominal, extra premium, our Policy will also cover you on all the above mentioned vehicle parts.

Overturning We also provide cover for overturning damages in mobile cranes/ drillings rigs/ mobile plants/ excavators/ navvies/shovels/grabs and rippers at an additional premium.

Discount Available

In our constant endeavour to provide you with the best services, we also offer you a host of discounts on your Commercial Motor Policy.

Motor Act Only PolicyMotor Act Only Policy

Our Motor Act Only Policy for Vehicles Policy is designed to cover the compulsory Third Party Liability as required by the Motor Vehicles Act

Scope of Cover

This policy safeguards you against legal liability arising out of the use of your vehicle towards third parties leading to bodily injury to / on death of a person and any damage caused to the third party property.

Personal accident cover : The Policy includes a personal accident cover of Rs.1 lakh in case of two-wheelers and Rs. 2 lakhs for other classes of vehicles for owner/s* of the vehicle/s. This benefit is, however, not available for a company owned vehicle.

* Available only if the owner of the vehicle holds a valid driving license.

Additional Legal liabilities for:

  • Paid driver / conductor / cleaner employed in operation of vehicle
  • Employees travelling in / driving the vehicle other than paid driver.
  • Non-fare paying passengers

Bifuel-Kit: The Act Only Policy For Vehicles also covers any legal liability arising out of the use of CNG-LPG bifuel kit.

Motor Trade Insurance PackageMotor Trade Insurance Package

These endorsements are designed to cover some additional risks of the vehicle together with loss or damage to the Vehicle itself.

Scope of Cover

Depreciation Reimbursement: This add-on endorsement reimburses you the amount deducted as depreciation during an own-damage claim involving partial damage of the vehicle.

Return to Invoice: Through the Return to Invoice Add-On you can claim reimbursement for the difference between the cost of a new vehicle similar to the one insured, and the total loss claim amount in the event that your insured vehicle is stolen or is a total loss.

NCB Protection: In case an own-damage claim is made, this Add-On endorsement envisages protecting the NCB level that you are enjoying.

Tyre Damage: This Add-On endorsement will pay for the cost of new tyres, in case a tyre is damaged beyond repair for any reason.

Additional Personal Accident Cover: The Additional Personal Accident Cover Add-On helps you increase the limit of coverage of the personal accident cover of your main motor policy. All other terms and conditions of these Add-Ons are similar to that of what is covered under the PA section of the Motor Policy.

Hospital Cash Allowance: These Add-On endorsements allow a daily allowance for a period not exceeding thirty days, if the insured persons are hospitalised due to injury in any accident involving the insured vehicle.

Basic Roadside Assistance: These Add-On endorsements provide for certain Basic Roadside Assistance as follows:

  • Towing of disabled vehicles due to any reason
  • Minor on-site repairs due to electrical or mechanical failures (the cost of parts, if any, need to be borne by the insured)
  • Battery jump start
  • Change of flat tyre by the spare tyre carried in the insured vehicle
  • Retrieval of vehicle keys from inside the locked vehicle
  • Replacement of contaminated fuel or providing emergency fuel in case the vehicle runs out of fuel (the cost of fuel, however, has to be borne by the insured).

Additional Roadside Assistance: These Add-On endorsements provide for certain Additional Roadside Assistance to private car owners provided you have also opted for the Basic Road-side Assistance. These are as follows:

  • Continuation of journey if the insured vehicle is disabled on road due to any reason.
  • Local travel, when on tour, if the insured vehicle is disabled due to any reason, when the insured vehicle was used in the tour
  • Overnight expense when on tour if the insured vehicle, which was used during the tour, is disabled due to any reason.
  • Repatriation of the insured vehicle, if the disabled vehicle is repaired in a place at least 100 kms away from your registered address.

Engine Damage: This Add-On endorsement will pay for the cost of child parts of the engine in case of hydrostatic lock damage of the engine.

Key Replacement: This Add-On endorsement will pay for the cost of new set of ignition keys in case the old set is stolen or damaged.

Loss of Personal Belongings: This Add-On endorsement will pay for the loss of your personal belongings like mobile, laptops from your parked locked vehicle.

Inconvenience Allowance: This Add-On endorsement will pay a certain amount of allowance per day for a period not exceeding 10 days when the insured vehicle is undergoing accidental repairs.

Motor trade risk internal InsuranceMotor trade risk internal Insurance

Our Motor Trade Internal Risk Policy ensures that your compulsory Third Party Liability clause under Motor Vehicles Act is taken care of. Not to mention, the policy also ensures adequate cover in the event of loss or damage to the vehicle itself, exclusively for motor manufacturers and dealers.

Scope of Cover

Third party liability: Protects against any legal liability arising out of the use of the vehicle towards third parties arising on bodily injury to / on death of a person and any damage caused to the third party property whilst in your property.

Loss or damage to the vehicle: Covers against any loss or damage caused to the vehicle or its accessories due to the clients vehicle getting damaged whilst in the insured's property

Additional covers at extra cost

  • Open air car park: This extension provides the coverage of the policy for the open air car park of your vehicle.
  • Work away from the premises: This extension provides the coverage of the policy when the work is performed in a location away from your primary address.
Exclusion

Any loss/damage to the vehicle and/or its accessories will not be covered if caused by the following events:-

Loss of use, depreciation and natural wear and tear

Arising out of contractual liability

Mechanical / electrical breakdown

Loss / damage due to war, mutiny or nuclear risk

Motor Add onsMotor Add ons
Depreciation Reimbursement

(Applicable for All Class of vehicles)
In consideration of the payment of an additional premium as specified and shown in the Schedule, the Company will re-imbrues the Insured, the amount of depreciation deducted on the value of parts which were allowed to be replaced for own damage claim lodged under Section 1 of the Policy, provided always that

This add-on will not apply to TOTAL LOSS, CONSTRUCTIVE TOTAL LOSS or THEFT OF THE INSURED VEHICLE.

Loss or damage to the vehicle: Covers against any loss or damage caused to the vehicle or its accessories due to the clients vehicle getting damaged whilst in the insured's property

The insured vehicle is repaired with prior authorization of the Company.Subject otherwise to the terms exceptions conditions and limitations of this Policy.

Return to Invoice

(Applicable for All Class of Vehicles)
In consideration of the payment of an additional premium as specified and shown in the Schedule, it is hereby declared and agreed that in case of the following events of TOTAL LOSS, CONSTRUCTIVE TOTAL LOSS OR THEFT OF THE INSURED VEHICLE, despite whatever is mentioned as IDV of the vehicle in the Policy schedule, the Company will :

Pay the Invoice value for, or replace with, a NEW vehicle of same make and model (or a similar model with similar specification available locally in India, in case the insured model is unavailable in India)

Pay the Original customs duty, if any, OR the customs duty applicable for the new vehicle- whichever is less,

Pay the Registration charges and Road-Tax applicable for the RTO as per the Motor Policy on which the claim is lodged

Cover for Consequential Damage to Engine (Engine Protector)

(Applicable for Private Cars Only)
In consideration of the payment of an additional premium as specified and shown in the Schedule, the Company agrees that, in case of

Consequential loss to internal child parts of the engine of the Insured vehicle due to water ingress into the combustion chamber or due to leakage of lubricating oil,

Consequential damage to the gear box due to leakage of lubricating oil arising out of accidental means,

The Company shall pay for

Repair or replacement of the internal child-parts of the engine such as Cylinder head, Crankshaft, Connecting rods and Piston.

Repair or replacement of internal parts of the Gear box housing, such as gears and shafts.

Labour charges required to carry out the repair or replacement of the damaged child-parts of the Engine or damaged gear-box.

Subject to the condition that

Only one event in the entire policy period will be compensated.

There is evidence, that the vehicle had stalled and stopped in the water-logged area, resulting into damage to the internal child-parts of the engine, OR

There is evidence of under-carriage damage, resulting into leakage of lubricant causing damage to the internal child parts of the engine or gear-box, AND

The losses or damages are not otherwise admissible under Motor Insurance Policy.

  For the purpose of this Endorsement, it is an implied condition that

The Insured shall avoid driving through water-logged areas.

In the event that the vehicle has stalled or stopped in water-logged area, OR there is damage to under-carriage of the vehicle, the Insured shall not try to crank or push-start the engine.

The Insured will inform the nearest office for technical help and spot-survey.

The Insured shall take reasonable care to protect against aggravation of damage or loss to the Insured vehicle.

Cover for key Replacement

(Applicable only for Private Cars)
In consideration of the payment of an additional premium as specified and shown in the Schedule, the Company will, in the event of

Vehicle Keys being lost, OR

Vehicle Keys being stolen, OR

Vehicle lock being broken at the time of burglary or attempted burglary.Reimburse the Insured, the cost of replacing the vehicle keys, by a new set of lock & keys,  provided always that

  • In case of lost or stolen keys, all other duplicates of the lost or stolen keys are to be deposited with the Company
  • In case the vehicle lock is broken at the time of burglary or attempted burglary, the entire set of old keys are to be deposited with the Company
  • The Company is provided with a copy of FIR lodged with Police by the Insured confirming the date and time of the incident
  • The replacement should be carried out in a company Authorised Garage.
  • Each such replacement claim shall be subject to 10% co-share of the total cost of replacement -subject to a minimum of Rs 500/- , by the Insured.
  • Any items replaced under this Endorsement, will be of the same type, quality, quantity, or standard as the ones which were lost, stolen or replaced.
  • The Reimbursement under this endorsement will be allowed only for one event during the Policy period.

 Subject otherwise to the terms exceptions conditions and limitations of this Policy.

Loss of personal belonging

(Applicable only for Private Cars)
In consideration of the payment of an additional premium as specified and shown in the Schedule, the Company will pay for the Insured's loss or damage of his personal belongings which were present in the vehicle at the time of loss or damage to the vehicle caused by perils mentioned under Section 1 of the Motor Policy, OR if the vehicle was broken into for the purpose of burglary or theft of those personal belongings.


The coverage under this endorsement is subject always to the following:

This Endorsement covers the personal belongings of the INSURED ONLY

Personal Belonging for the purpose of this Endorsement means, items such as clothes and other articles of personal nature likely to be worn by the Insured including jewelleries, and/or used or carried by him like Mobile, Laptop, Tabs, Audio/Video tapes, CD's, but EXCLUDES money, securities, cheques, bank drafts, debit or credit cards, travel tickets, paintings, curios and items of similar nature.

Any claim under this Section is subject to the precondition that there is a valid own damage or Key replacement claim in respect of the insured vehicle, already admitted by the Company under the Policy

The Company is to be provided with a copy of FIR lodged with Police by the Insured, confirming the date and time of the incident and the articles lost.

The maximum amount payable under this Policy is Rs 50,000/- during the Policy period. Each claim is subject to a deductible of Rs 5000/- for Laptop, Tab and Jewelleries, Rs 2500/- for Mobiles and Rs 500/- for the rest.

Subject otherwise to the terms exceptions conditions and limitations of this Policy.

Protection of NCB

(Applicable to All Classes of Vehicle)
In consideration of the payment of an additional premium as specified and shown in the Schedule, the Company agrees to protect the No Claim Bonus (NCB) at the time of Renewal in case the Insured lodges for and is allowed a claim under any section of the Motor Policy, provided always that

The vehicle is renewed with us.

The rate of NCB allowed at the time of renewal will be same as that enjoyed by Insured prior to the loss, except in cases of Sunset Clause, where the rate of NCB will be brought down to 50%.

There was only one single claim lodged in the entire Policy period on the Motor Policy.

The insured vehicle is repaired in a Company Authorised Garage.

Subject otherwise to the terms exceptions conditions and limitations of this Policy.

Basic Road side assistance

(Applicable to All Classes of Vehicle)
In consideration of the payment of an additional premium as specified and shown in the Schedule, the Company will provide the following services:

Mechanical & Electrical Breakdown: In the event, that the insured vehicle is immobilized on a public road due to any mechanical or electrical breakdown, the Company shall

  • Arrange for an automobile technician to attend to the insured vehicle on the spot of such breakdown to help mobilize the vehicle on its own power.
  • Arrange for the towing of the insured vehicle to a nearest Repair shop/ Garage, if mobilization of the insured vehicle is not possible by carrying out such repairs on spot.
  • Provide for custody and storage of the insured vehicle until the Repair shops/Garages re-open, if the Repair shops/Garages are closed due to holidays or night hours.
  • Undertake to locate, procure and deliver spare parts required for repair to the Repair shop/ Garage within 72 (seventy two) hours, if such spare parts are not available with the Repair shop/ Garages, provided that the parts are available in the open market within the geographical limits of India.

Accidental Immobilization: In the event, that the insured vehicle is immobilized on a public road due to any accident covered by the Policy, the Company shall

  • Arrange for towing of the insured vehicle to the nearest Company's Authorized Repair shop/Garage.
  • Provide for custody and storage of the insured vehicle until the Repair shop/Garage re-open, if such Repair shop/Garage being closed due to holidays or night hours.

Flat Tyre:In the event, that the insured vehicle is immobilized on a public road, due to a flat tyre caused by puncture of or damage to the tyre /tube/valve or bolts of the tyre, the Company shall arrange for an automobile technician to attend to the insured vehicle on the spot of such event to replace the flat tyre with the spare tyre carried in the insured vehicle.

Dead Battery: In the event, that the engine of the insured vehicle fails to start due to a dead battery, the Company shall arrange for an automobile technician to attend to the Insured vehicle on the spot of such event, to help jump start the vehicle so that it can be driven on its own power on self-propelled basis to the nearest Repair Shop/Garage.

Keys Locked-In : In the event, that the insured vehicle is immobilized on a public road, due to loss of its keys, or its keys being either locked inside the vehicle or broken, resulting in a situation where the Insured is unable to gain entry into the insured vehicle, the Company shall

  • Locate and retrieve duplicate set of keys under due authorization of the Insured to do so, and deliver such keys to the Insured or his authorized representative upon production of personal identification and authorization.
  • Arrange for an automobile technician to attend to the insured vehicle on the spot of such event in order to attempt the opening of the vehicle door with normally available tools, if the Insured desires to attempt opening the vehicle, since retrieval of a duplicate set of keys would be time consuming,.

Contamination/ Incorrect or Running Out of Fuel: In the event that the insured vehicle is immobilized on a public road at least one kilometre away from the nearest petrol pump, due to the insured vehicle running out of fuel, or the fuel in the insured vehicle being incorrect or contaminated, or there is a air lock in the fuel system, the Company will

  • Arrange for delivery/ replacing/ changing the fuel - as the case may be, up to a maximum of ten liters- on the spot where the insured vehicle stands immobilized.
  • Arrange for bleeding of fuel line to dissipate the air lock.
